My January Classes for all my January Crops

This is my first attempt at "SheArt"

Hello My Friends!!

I hope that you and yours had a wonderful Christmas... and that 2015 offers you a year full of good times, good memories, good health, and lots of love!

I am trying to get caught up and ready for all of my January Crops/Classes! In November, CTMH had a Leadership Conference and they taught everyone how to create 'SheArt'... I just think it is one of the neatest things... As wives, mother's, daughter's and all other rolls that we assume... we always take care of everyone else! And create everything as gifts for others...

'SheArt' is about YOU! It is about creating a representation of yourself through the usage of mixed media!

So, I have decided to offer 'SheArt' as all of my January classes so I can reach out to as many of my crop friends as I can, to provide the opportunity for YOU to celebrate YOU!! There is NO RIGHT, and there is NO WRONG! This is all about YOU! How you see yourself, or what you would like to see, or your secret or hidden desires!

So I have put together everything you need to create your own little 6" X 6" "SheArt" canvas! I hope you will come and play with us...

I have listed all of the crops I will be teaching this at in January 2015, along with the link to the Crop websites! To sign up for my class, please email me privately at and let me know which crop you will be attending! If you are not attending any of the crops, you are certainly welcome to come take any of the classes, and shop, if you'd like! Just let me know which crop you would like to take the class at, so I save a spot for you!!

'SheArt' 101 Class with Barb Carrico (Close To My Heart)

Creative Crops ( ~ Shepherdstown, WV ~ January 16-18, 2015

It's A Diva Crop ( ~ Rockville, MD ~ January 23-25, 2015

Crops Plus ( ~ Sterling, VA ~ January 30-February 1, 2015

Cost: $15.00

What do you need to bring: If you would like to add to what I have available for you (CTMH B&T Paper, cardstock, embellishments, many different "She" statements to chose from and much more), you are welcome to bring any embellishments, fabrics, ribbons, lace, baubles... or whatever you'd like!

What is SheArt?:  It is to create a representation of yourself through the usage of mixed media. For this class, it is created on a 6" X 6" canvas, and it is meant to be simply a starting place! I do have some paper doll patterns, however, I encourage you to create yourself from scratch!

Don't you just love my Paper Pinecones?

Hi There!
For my local friends, I hope you are enjoy this mild weather! It sure was nice to have the windows open today! However, I understand things are about to change - drastically! Oh well, I have enjoyed this day!

I wanted to post the pictures of the beautiful Paper Pine Cones that I created using CTMH's Pathfinding Paper! I taught this class at 2 of the crops I was a vendor at in September, and THEY LOVED them! There is almost a peaceful, therapeutic feeling in the easy method used in creating these! I am so excited to say that I actually sold 30 kits to my customers, so that they could make their own beautiful fall display!

I hope you like how they turned out, as much as I do!

Be watching for my November classes coming soon!

Thanks for stopping by....

CTMH's Sparkle and Shine Medallion Tree

Hi Everyone!

I am going to admit to you that I have been really nervous about creating this tree for the first time! It did take some figuring out, but now that I have it all squared away, it is pretty easy! So, I am going to jump right in and I will be teaching this class next weekend at Crops Plus!
Pictures don't do this very pretty Medallion (aka Lollies, rosettes and etc) Tree justice, but I promise this tree is something you will love having in your home, or gifting to your family and/or friends this Holiday Season... They are not hard to make, although a bit time consuming, AND totally worth it! You will probably be making more than this one! The dimensions of this tree are 14" tall and approx. 5" wide.

These trees are cut from the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge, and I will have them all precut for you, including the glitter paper snowflakes that you will be decorating this tree with. The base of the tree is a silver votive candle cup with a silver and rhinestone snowflake on both sides! This tree can be enjoyed from all sides!

All you need to bring is a low temp. (to save your fingers) glue gun and lots of glue sticks, a bottle of Liquid Glass or something similar... I will have everything else you need! I am not sure we will get it 100% done in class - however, it shouldn't take much longer, since I am prepping everything for you in advance!
I will only be prepping a limited number of these kits, so if you are interested, please sign up ASAP! To sign up for this class, please email Barb at

WOW! Life has been a Whirling Dervish this Summer!

Hello My Friends!

I apologize for my LONG absence... Things have been crazy for me and my family since the last time I posted on my blog! I have been to Walt Disney World for CTMH's Annual Convention, and return home the night before my daughter and her 4 precious kiddo's arrived for a month!

We had a wonderful time together, eating at their favorite restaurants, taking in a few movies, reorganizing parts of the house, baseball games, LOTS of shopping, family pictures and just having a great time being together! We didn't do profession pictures, but we are happy with the way they turned out! This is the shot we chose for our Canvas... The kids are all growing up so fast!

During the course of the past couple months, I haven't done a whole lot of creating... but then I jumped back into it with both feet! The Scrapbook Expo that I am a vendor for every year is coming up in about 6 weeks and I needed some artwork, so I signed up for a Display Board swap to help me out!

The CTMH Paper Pack I was responsible for Sarita (X7171B) and below is what I created... I used the Sarita Paper and Sarita Assortment (Z1873) (includes wood and metal pieces that coordinate with the Sarita paper).

I used the new CTMH Artbooking Cricut Cartridge (Z1906) for the font on the title on the layout, and the layout came from the "Make It From The Heart Book 1" (9035).

I also used the ARTBOOKING cartridge to cut the Colonial White cardstock frame for the 4.25" X 5.5" card, then it was stamped with the frame in Lagoon and the phrase inside was stamped with Goldrush, it was all from the same stamp set called 'In The Moment' (C1565)... And to add some sparkle, I used some Silver Shimmer Trim (Z1799), and the small Sparkle Flourishes (Z1812).

I also made an 'altered item' which was the new 'Base & Bling' Hair Clip (Z1876) and I used the Sarita Textiles (Z1885) and the B&B Adhesive Dots (Z1903) to hold the fabric to the hair clip! Then to top it off, I used the Base & Bling Floral Accents (Z1883) sm. metal flower.

And to finish off my set, I also made a 3" X 3" card using the Artbooking cartridge to cut the Cotton Candy square bow frame, then stamped "Heartfelt Birthday wish" (M1033) in Gypsy, and added Base & Bing Teal Jewels (Z1891).

I have more artwork to share, but I don't want to overwhelm you all on my first day back!

Thank you for stopping by! I am going to do my best to post more often!

2 More of Secret Sister Gifts

Happy Sunday Everyone!

After a GREAT weekend at Crops Plus and a week of family issues, I am finally catching up and am here to post my 3rd and 4th gifts that I gave to my Secret Sisters on the CTMH Cruise!

The first one shown was a fun frame that my Secret Sister's, Lisa Sargant and Tiffany Young) will be able to use to add a picture  as a reminder of the magnificent time they had in the Southern Caribbean with CTMH! I used the (X7168B) Surf's Up Paper, and an exclusive stamp set that CTMH created just for the Cruisers! It is actually a double stamp set that not only includes the 2013 CTMH Southern Caribbean Cruise Logo, but it also includes the names of all the ports we visited and lots of flora and fauna that you might find in the Southern Caribbean! It is so neat!! I have already had some of my customer's ask who they can get the set!

The 2nd gift  shown here was made using CTMH's new My Creations Kraft Container (Z1833) that only costs $3.95... It is REally well made, very sturdy AND you can even gently press the top chipboard circle out of the lid so you can cover it and have it look finished!

I used the Brand New CTMH Paper called Tommy (X7169B) and the Tommy embellishment Assortment (Z1824) that has LOTS of neat coordinated items, including the little flags and the cork circles!!  This was pretty easy to make, but it did require some drying time because I used Liquid Glass to make sure everything was firmly secured since I was traveling with them! Oh, and I filled them with Full size Snickers bars... as a Chocolate treat!

I hope to recreate all of my gifts for myself (and my guest, and dear friend, Mary Whitley) so that you can see that in person at my upcoming crops!

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend! I just heard that we may have snow on Wednesday... it is making me long for the Southern Caribbean!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

What an Amazing Cruise to Paradise!

Hi Everyone!

I am back from my amazing CTMH Cruise to the Southern Caribbean... It is definitely Paradise!

I have so much to share, however, I got home late Monday night and have a 3 Day crop starting tomorrow... so I have scrambling to get ready for it! So I thought I would post some new Idea Book artwork... These are a couple of the things I gave to my Secret Sister's... I had 2, and have a wonderful time created for them... especially since I got to use CTMH's new products!

The first picture is a File Folder that I decorated with CTMH's new SURF'S UP paper... I also gave them a Travel Journal and pen on the first day!

The 2nd picture is of CTMH's new Clear Acetate Pillow Boxes, that I decorated with CTMH's new GORGEOUS Chantilly Paper and embellishments! I filled the pillow boxes with Dove Chocolate Hearts! I also gave them on the 2nd day with the pillow boxes, a fun yellow beach towel, suncreen and a gossip magazine to read while hanging out in the sun!

I have more to share, but I wanted to put something on my blog before I head out to Crops Plus!!

Have a great weekend everyone
